Middleweight Interior Designer
– Permanent Role –
DesignLSM are seeking a creative Interior Designer to join our busy Brighton based studio. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop and further their design portfolio within the hospitality industry
You will play a key role within the team developing different sized Interior Design projects from concept through to site implementation.

About the role
You will proactively assist the team in producing the necessary work stage information required throughout the life cycle of a project, this will include developing concepts, producing working drawings and attending site meetings.
Responsibilities
Successfully assist with design projects working through the RIBA Stages 0 - 7 as well as to the company’s high standards, following the approval process throughout
Assist the team in producing the necessary work stage information required, ranging from doing measured survey’s, developing concepts, attending meetings, developing working drawings and attending site
Ensuring all designs are operationally and technically sound, as well as maintaining high levels of creativity - presenting and communicating creative ideas in line with the company’s high standards
Be aware of current applicable building and planning codes, liaising with the Local Authority, Landlords, Contractors, Suppliers and general persons involved within the implementation of a project
Undertake project and team administrative duties as required by your Team Leader - assisting them in quality control for all projects as per the company’s quality management system
Be aware of what work is undertaken by co consultants, along with understanding which consultants are required on a project and when
Be aware of industry events, exhibitions, relevant news and inspiring spaces, keeping up to date with new developments and design trends, sharing knowledge with the team
What we are looking for
You will have a minimum of 3 years professional experience in hospitality design and have some experience of running smaller projects. You must be confident in your creative abilities and demonstrate a true understanding of the overall design process.
Requirements
BA (Hons) or MA Interior Architecture qualification (or equivalent)
Excellent presentation, conceptual and visualising skills
Keen eye for detail
Proficient in AutoCAD, Creative Suite and Sketch up, Enscape an advantage
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment to tight deadlines
Fluent in written and spoken English
Strong and confident client communication skills
